About Sofia Hello! My name is Sofia Robirosa, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I attended Nova Southeastern University for both my bachelor and master degrees in marriage and family therapy and in business administration. I am a Leader in Active Parenting for children and teens, an evidenced based program, and certified addictions professional (CAP). I am a passionately committed therapist, who thoroughly takes pride and joy from my job. My goal is to provide change for my clients in as few amount of sessions as possible. My professional interests are in the parent-child relationship, parenting, and addiction (substance abuse, food addiction, eating disorders, gambling, among others). I provide individual, family, couples, and group counseling. I enjoy working with a culturally diverse population, and I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and a three year board member of the Broward Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (2014-2016). I love my family, which is consisted of my husband, daughter, and two dogs. Some of my interests outside of work include spending time outdoors, traveling, and dining. It is a wonderful and rewarding experience to help mommies achieve their goals in raising their children. This might encompass enhancing parenting skills in family therapy, or other areas, such as working on individual or couples issues. A mommy might feel that depression, anxiety, self-esteem, substance abuse or other issues are getting in the way of being the mommy that she wants to be. Also, at times, couples issues, such as poor communication, lack of closeness, or a recent affair might be affecting the mommy-child relationship. I can help with these matters among others.
