MOMpreneur Life Glimpse 11
When you are a mom and you start your own business it is like the first few days you find out you are pregnant with a baby you have always wanted.
You’re feeling elated, excited and like everyone in the world will find your brand groundbreaking.
Then as time goes on, you begin to feel like a pregnant woman walking with swollen ankles, in the heat, with no water available.
It is still exciting as you know you have a big arrival ahead, but the initial excitement has given way to the reality of blood, sweat and tears making your dream into a reality.
Then as you give birth to your business, it is exactly like when you reach 7 centimeters at birth. There is absolutely no turning back….you realize this large head is going to come out of your body and you have no help. It’s all you. You have to find the inner strength to get to the finish line of getting your business up and going. Day in and day out you have to stay motivated.
When your baby finally arrives, once again the jubilance returns, just like when your business finally makes its arrival online or in person to reach moms. The next week you are holding your beautiful baby creation and it begins to cry. You think uh oh, I could really use some help, but it’s 3 am I am on my own. I have to figure this out.
There comes a point as a MOMpreneur when you face the true reality that you have to figure it all out. The social media, the google analytics, the website configuration, the content creation, fulfillment of orders and all while being a great MOM to your kids! WHEW!
I love business coaches! They are amazing. But let’s be honest here when you are a mommy start up and they are asking for $5,000 to ‘coach’ you that’s a heavy load to bear. I am an avid reader, but again balancing mother hood and owning a business my time is extremely limited to prop up the feet and actually read an entire how to book.
So here is what I have found: As a busy mom, and motivated business owner I search for business articles pertaining to digital marketing, trends, and the Google machine. That way every morning with my Mama Java coffee I sit down (love supporting fellow MOMpreneurs) and read a business article online. I have created it as a morning ritual. I have found it to be true that if you can do it for 21 days you will have a much higher success rate in maintaining this positive lifestyle change.
Most of all to my fellow MOMpreneurs if you are like me with a 4-year-old next to you trying to shut your computer because they want your attention a baby in the other room and a 2-year-old napping, just know you are not alone. We are all juggling A LOT and it Makes Motherhood Easier when we support and encourage one another! Make sure to connect with us at www.ihelpmoms.com!
