Meet A Teacher That Is Changing The World!
This is a teacher that has truly left me speechless. I am in awe of her commitment to teaching, to caring for others and her selfless dedication to helping not just kids but families. This is truly a woman I admire and aspire to be more like. I am bursting with happiness to introduce you to JumpStart Interventions founder Rachel Herrick! This summer she will be leading Social skills classes for elementary age children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
JumpStart Interventions specializes in family centered, early intervention services for children and their families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Location: Coconut Creek Community Center with a 3:1 student teacher ratio.
Benefit for Families and Kids:
These small group classes assist in developing independent, meaningful, and age appropriate social skills.
Topics covered include: conversation starters and initiation, staying on topic and conversation reciprocity, making friends, what is socially acceptable, and how to stand up for yourself.
Summer classes are 8 weeks in duration and include:
*Intermediate age group on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-6:00
*Primary age group class on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00
*Emergent skills class (pre-k and beginning verbal skills) on Thursdays from 6:00-7:00
