Florida's Best Kept Secret Family Vacation Spot

Florida’s Best Kept Secret Family Vacation Spot

When most people think of kids and Florida…they automatically think Disney.
As a Floridian I go to Disney all of the time, but I truly think ihelpmoms.com may have found one of Florida’s best kept family resort secrets this last weekend!  We are all about Making Motherhood Easier and I thought I would share this amazing summer vacation family resort with our fans!

When I looked up the Pink Shell Resort I instantly thought it looked like it was stuck in the 80’s. Being used to the beauty and luxury of Disney I was honestly hesitant to try this.
When we got to the resort, I was SO EXCITED with how well thought out the resort was for kids and families!

The focal point of the resort are a variety of pools and of course the incredible beach! They have a kids pool that is 1 to 2 feet deep with fountains which was a blast. Then they have a zero entry pool which is also incredible for kids to play safety.  And THEN they have an incredible stretch of beach with one of the BEST sandbars we have ever experienced living in Florida.  While we were there, the ocean was full of sand dollars and shells and natural wonders that our kids got to experience which was so fun!  They had paddle boards, wave runners, boats, and parasailing available too! The resort has a great kids club, starting at age 4, an arcade and fun kids activities throughout the day.

The rooms are my favorite I have ever stayed in with our family.  They were not fancy, but they were hands down the most functional and while my youngest took a nap, the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the beach with a balcony were a major bonus.  There was a large bedroom with multiple closets and room for a pack n play for our youngest.  Then there was a pull out couch for our three year old and a HUGE bathroom with a giant tub for them to get clean every day after the beach! The room had a full kitchen which was perfect to store snacks and drinks.  Bongos the main restaurant is okay, the beach catering was my favorite with amazing food delivered beach side (pull your flag up to get the server to come over:) and the breakfast at Jacks which is on property as well was great and fast with young kids.  I don’t recommend Jacks for dinner though as it took forever.  We did Doc Fords with the family, and Nervous Nellies and SOBs looked fun which is right in the main stretch of downtown.

Is Pink Shell Resort fancy? No.  Was it a blast for our kids and an easy, fun filled vacation? Absolutely! We love to travel and discover great family vacations, so if you have a great vaca recommendation make sure to leave it in the comments!

Wishing you a happy summer!
