Boost Your Baby’s Development with BabySparks!
At ihelpmoms.com, we love the BabySparks app!!
The BabySparks iPhone app (Android coming soon) is a playbook full of baby development-boosting activities that empowers parents to know exactly what to do and when to do it to help their children progress across key development areas. The seven areas of critical development are Gross Motor, Fine Motor, Cognitive, Speech, Sensory, Self-Care, and Social-Emotional. BabySparks is an all-in-one development solution for moms and dads of newborns, infants, and babies. It includes both month-by-month critical development information and hundreds of development-boosting activities for babies 0 –12 months old.
Each activity is age-specific, so that parents see only activities that are appropriate for their baby. Every day a parent can access a collection of 9 – 13 activities suggested for their baby’s age and development level. Or they can search by their specific needs (at the beach, focused on rolling over, or only fine motor activities). Each activity includes a demonstration video, a text description, and a list of any necessary tools to do the activity (like toys or other objects found around the house). As activities are mastered, the content adjusts to meet the specific development needs of the child. Developed by child development experts and parents, BabySparks is one of the best apps for parents of newborn babies, infants, and older babies to have a direct influence on their baby’s progress during the first year of life.
Creator of BabySparks, Gustavo answer some questions about how the app came to be!
1. What is your passion or reason for creating BabySparks
Like many parents who start businesses, mine came from a specific need with
our first son, Nico. When he was born, I spent a lot of time talking to
other parents about what they did to engage their babies, to stimulate
development. No one had great answers, so I started reaching out to doctors
and other experts in the field. That is where I discovered the practice of
“early stimulation” with babies. It’s all about activities and games that
help stimulate a specific part of the brain or body, to help boost the
development that is already happening. When I looked for these things in
London (where we lived) or in the US, there wasn’t much available. There
were classes and baby gyms – but what about the time that it was just us
with our baby? There isn’t a parent out there that doesn’t want to do the
best for their baby – I wanted to make it easier for parents like me to help
give their kids the best start possible.
2. Why do experts love BabySparks?
We have received very positive feedback from experts. 3 of the comments
that we received more often are:
– Provides moms with a high quality tool to support their baby’s development
from the day he or she is born. Experts tells us that parents often don’t
realize all that can be done to support a baby from the first day.
– It adapts to both age and individual development level. As you use
BabySparks it adapts more and more to your baby, not only to a typical 3 or
8 month old baby, but to the specifics needs of your 3-month or 8-month old
baby. The way our app does this has been very well received by experts.
– It also provides a month-by-month detailed list of milestones. This
increases awareness. If everything is fine it gives peace of mind. If
there seems to be a problem it helps moms to react fast so that they can ask
their pediatrician or a development expert.
Many of the parents that use BabySparks understand that the early
stimulation activities they are doing will have lifelong impact, as far as
development goes. What they often tell us is that the quality time they get
to spend with their babies is a fantastic additional benefit. BabySparks is
basically playing with your child in a smart way. Doing these activities is
a catalyst for moms (and dads) to connect and bond in many ways with their
babies. With a few minutes at a time, they get to see where their child
excels, where the baby might struggle a bit, and learn some likes and
dislikes. The one-to-one interaction without distraction is a fantastic
